But before we do that, why don't we check it out and make sure that this is something that's going to work for you. A lot of times, we get these vans here in the shop and people plan on using them primarily for work, or maybe even a shuttle-type vehicle, and a lot of times those tasks require you to pull a trailer. Whether you have a work material in the back, or even luggage, if you're hauling people around, things like that, and if that's your case, you know, when you're pulling a trailer, you want those lights to work, that way you're safe and legal. And this is what our harness looks like when it's installed. It's a four pole flat trailer connector, so you're gonna get all your necessary lighting signals, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps, keeping you DOT compliant in all states. The harness has a dust boot that comes included with it which you can use to secure your harness to your safety chain loop, but we do also have brackets available here at etrailer if you wanted to get a more permanent mount. And this is what our wiring harness looks like when it's installed. It is a four-pole flat trailer connector harness that you can use the dust cap to, to secure to the safety chain loops on your hitch. And when we pull it out here and remove our dust cap, we can see, we've got four connections here at the back. These are gonna provide all of our necessary lighting signals, which includes our left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, and brake lamps. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're going to be going over and showing you how to install the Hopkins Multi-Tow seven and four way trailer connector here on our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. So here's what our trailer connector looks like installed. As you can see here, we have both a seven way connection which is going to be used with our larger trailers that have electric brakes as well as the four way connection here. So we can still tow these smaller trailers. So this trailer wiring harness is going to be an excellent option for your Colorado here. Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer today on our 2020 Chevrolet Traverse, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the CURT Vehicle Wiring Harness with a four way flat connector end. One great thing about this wiring setup is the fact that whenever you're not using it you're going to be able to keep it hidden behind your access panel. But whenever you are ready to hook up, you can remove your panel and easily get to it. That way you can plug in your trailer and hit the road. Which this is really convenient especially since the Traverse is really versatile I see them doing a little bit of everything, pulling trailers, and what this is going to do is allow you to power up your trailer lights, to keep you safe and legal. And with this four way flat connector end it's a really common type of connector and even a lot nowadays, too I see people using cargo carriers or other accessories that have lights on them and nine times out of 10, those types of accessories have the same type of connector end so this will allow you to power those up as well. more

If your truck didn't come with the factory prep package and you need to tow a fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer, chances are you're going to need an in-bed wiring harness. So if you don't have that, you are going to want to pick this up when you get your fifth wheel or gooseneck hitch.So this is going to be the factory-style plug that's installed in the rear bumper, as well. Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Express Van- Video
Rob: Hey, everybody. It's Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness on our 2019 Chevrolet express van. Now, our Tekonsha wiring is going to give us a four-pole flat trailer connector. It's one of the most common trailer connector aside from the seven pole connector, and our four pole is going to give us all of our light functions so we can safely and legally get down the road, like our tail lights, our turn signals and our stoplights. Trailer wiring is good for more than just trailer lights, there's a lot of accessories that go into our hitch that use lights, and most of them have a four-pole trailer connector on the back. It's a lot easier to plug into the trailer connector here than trying to splice into factory wiring, having to cut wires and deal with all that.But speaking of installation, that is the really nice thing about our Tekonsha wiring, there is no cutting or splicing of the factory wires, it's just going to use a simple T-connector that's going to plug in line with our tail lights and it's going to get the signals that we need sent out to our trailer.Now, our Tekonsha wiring is actually designed to stay on the inside of the van until we're ready to use it. more

Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hi there Chevrolet owners. Today in your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Hopkins Multi-Tow 7-Way Blade and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector. And this is what our replacement connector's going to look like when it's installed. It replaces your factory connector or dummy plug that may be present and provide you with a 7-pole connector on top and a 4-pole connector on bottom, which really opens up your vehicle to being able to tow just about any type of trailer. You've got your 7-Way for your larger trailers that may have brakes, and you've got your 4-Way for your smaller trailers that just need lighting. I also like that the doors are spring loaded that snap shut, and there are rubber gaskets found on the inside of each one to keep out any dirt, debris and moisture to ensure long lasting connection and operation of both the 4- and 7-Way.And what I like even more is that on the front of our covers here, we have a diagram with a pin out of each circuit in our connector. more

Hi there Blazer owners. Today, in your 2019 Chevrolet Blazer, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's T-One 7-Pole Vehicle Wiring Harness. This is what our wiring looks like when it's installed. That's right, it looks like it's just a factory old vehicle here, but if we remove our panel here at the bottom, by spinning the screws at the bottom counter-clockwise, we've got our receiver hidden behind it, as well as our 7-pole connector, conveniently hidden behind the panel here as well. This custom fit 7-pole wiring from Tekonsha is going to provide you with a standard 7-pole here at the back of the vehicle with all the outputs fully functioning, which will include all of your necessary lighting signals, such as your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, and brake lamps, your auxiliary lighting for your backup lights, as well as a charge line, your auxiliary power circuit. If you guys have a Silverado and it comes with something like this, which goes to nothing, this isn't really going to do much for you. If you guys go on our website, grab the Hopkins and it's going to allow us to hook up not only just seven poles, but also four pole wiring for whatever kind of trailers you guys may have. It is going to be pretty much an OEM replacement. It looks a little bit different just because it has a couple spring doors, but other than that, it's going to fit in just like the OEM part that we removed here. more

Ron: How's it going everybody Ron here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins multi-tow trailer connector on our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado. Now, our Hopkins multi-tow trailer connector is going to fit directly into the bumper. And it almost looks factory because this is the same connector that is going to come from the factory. It's going to provide us with a seven way connector, as well as a four way connector, which is really nice because those are the two most common trailer connectors that you see on trailers.Now, our four way trailer connectors here on the bottom is to provide us all of our light functions, like our taillights, our turn signals, and our brake lights. Now, the seven ways you can also provide those light functions, but it's also going to give us a way to add a brake controller in and have that brake output signal, our reverse light signals, and a 12 volt power source.And each one of the doors is spring loaded. more

Shane: Hey guys, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, 2,500, and I'll walk you through how to install the Hopkins in bed, fifth wheel gooseneck wiring kit. Putting this in is going to give you not only a 7-pole plug in the bed of the truck, but it's also going to give you that 4-pole plug. So it really adds a nice feature. If you we're pulling a smaller trailer and you need that, 4-pole plug, you have one. The other nice thing about having this in the bed of the truck is when we're pulling that fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer, we're not going to have to drape our wire over the top of our tailgate, the plugging into that plug down by our bumper. more

Hopkins Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Hi there, Colorado owners. Today in your 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins seven and four pole wiring connector with harness. This is going to make a great replacement harness if you have a damaged connector here at the back on your Colorado. You can easily replace your factory wiring, but it also allows you to add wiring to your Colorado as many Colorado's come with factory wiring pre-attached to the frame underneath and they'll just have a dummy plug here where it's just a cover that doesn't have any openings. Those can pop out and this will insert directly into that, and then you can use the included harness to wire it right up to that factory connector.What I like about this is that you get both a seven and a four pole connector, so regardless of which type your trailer has you've got accommodations for both. It allows you to use your factory wiring, so unlike some of the other harnesses out there, you don't have to tap into any of the circuits. more

How's it going Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins multi-tow 7 and 4-way trailer connector. What I really like about this setup is the fact that it's going to use a factory mounting location, so it's going to look really clean. And the fact that it's not only going to give us a 7-Way connector, but if you flip open the door on the bottom, it's also going to provide us with a four-pole flat connector. That's especially nice if you happen to tow different types of trailers with different types of connectors, you're not going to have to deal with getting a adaptor plug or anything like that. You're going to have both common styles right here in one plug. more

Hey guys, Connor here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Custom Embed Fifth Wheel/ Gooseneck Wiring Harness for our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2,500. Our Curt Wiring Harness here, is going to be an excellent option for our savvy Silverado. It's going to provide the basic trailer lighting functions, as well as the electric brake, reverse, or even auxiliary battery charged circuit for some of our larger trailers.As you can see here, the seven way is located in the bed. So, it's going to be convenient for our Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harnesses, where the siren way might not reach the bumper. The Tekonsha T-one vehicle wiring harness is an excellent option for this vehicle. It offers a complete plug and play installation and it's going to provide us with our basic trailer lighting functions, such as the stop, the turn signals, and the running lights. The Tekonsha T-one vehicle wiring harness has four pins here. These four pins are for the basic trailer lighting functions, which is going to be our most common trailer connector. Hey everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins seven way and four way trailer connector on the back of our 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So our four way is going to give us all of our lighting functions that we need to get down the road safely and securely. It's going to give us our taillight function, our turn signals, and our stoplights. Now our seven way is going to give us all those functions as well, but it's also going to give us a 12 volt power source back here. It's going to give us a reverse signal, and we're going to be able to add in a brake controller so we can have our output signal going to our trailer.Our Hopkins wiring connector is actually going to replace the factory plug that's inside of our bumper here. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Blazer- Video
Rob: Hey, everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt T connector vehicle wiring harness for factory tow packages on our 2020 Chevrolet blazer. Now here's what our wiring's going to look like once we have it installed. It's going to provide us the four pole flat trailer connector, that way when we're towing a trailer with our blazer, we'll have all the lights that we need to get down the road safely and securely, like our tail lights, our stop lights and our turn signals. This is also going to provide us lights if we have any other kind of hitch mounted accessories like a cargo carrier that has external light kits or even a step, the wire is going to make it a lot easier to plug in rather than having to hard-wire any of those accessories.Now our wiring is designed to stay on the outside of the vehicle and they are going to provide us with a dust cap, which will keep all that dirt, debris and moisture out of the connector, hopefully preventing any kind of corrosion, but it's also going to help secure our four pole wiring to our hitch. That way, whenever we're not towing, it'll be right here ready for us when we need it. more

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today, we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a seven blade RV-style connector on our 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. Now, our Tekonsha wiring is going to provide us with all the lights we need to get down the road safely, like our taillights, our turn signals, our brake lights and even our reverse lights, but it's also going to give us a brake output signal in case we have a brake controller in our Traverse, as well as a 12-volt power source to power anything on our trailer. Now, our 7-way connector is going to have a spring loaded door, so we don't have to worry about it coming open and anything getting inside. There is going to be a gasket on the inside of the door as well to keep all that dirt debris, moisture, or anything else from inside the connection points.Now, if we also look on the door, we're going to have this little notch here and that's what's actually going to catch onto your 7-way plug and prevent it from getting pulled out while we're driving down the road. And one of my favorite things about our wiring is how easy it installs. A lot of customers are worried when it comes to wiring about cutting or splicing into their vehicle. more

And the nice thing is going to include a dust cap that we can actually use to hold our wiring by our hitch whenever we're not using it, but it's also going to keep all that dirt, debris and moisture out of the connector, and hopefully prevent any kind of corrosion.As far as installation, it is going to be extremely straight forward and the hardest part of it actually is going to be accessing the factory plug because we're not going to have to cut or splice anything. We're going to have one plug behind the bumper right above our exhaust that we'll plug into and then we'll just ride it over towards our hitch. more
